Ashlei Peoples
Ashlei Peoples is a versatile pianist, keyboardist, and vocalist whose artistry spans gospel, jazz, R&B, and classical music. A classically trained musician with over 20 years of performance experience, she blends technical mastery with soulful expression, effortlessly moving between genres and settings.
Ashlei currently serves as Music Director and Keyboardist for Jon B at the Kunte Kinte Festival, bringing her signature sound and leadership to the stage. She also performs background vocals with Earth, Wind & Fire and sings regularly with DC Transit Wedding Band, showcasing her ability to adapt her voice and musicianship to a wide range of audiences.
In addition to her live performances, Ashlei is an in-demand accompanist for universities, vocalists, and theatre productions across the Washington, DC area. She has accompanied major musicals such as Matilda, Mean Girls, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and has served as pianist for opera, choral ensembles, and jazz concerts.
As both a singer and pianist in R&B settings, Ashlei continues to develop her artistry as a solo performer while collaborating with nationally recognized artists. Her work reflects a rare blend of discipline, creativity, and passion for music that inspires audiences and fellow musicians alike.
