About Lights Out By 8 Band

Lights Out By 8 is a 5-member band from the DC/Northern Virginia area that covers your favorite pop and rock hits. Known for their engaging stage presence and energetic performance, Lights Out is well-versed in many party hits from the past few decades and available for both public and private events.

It all started in a humble basement where the band’s jam sessions were slightly less appreciated by Nick’s (band manager and drummer) roommates. Eventually, Nick’s roommates laid down a hard rule—lights out, music off, done by 8 PM. So, naturally, when it came time to name the band, they figured “why not immortalize the thing that tried to shut us down?” At that moment, ‘Lights Out By 8’ was born.

It’s a little bit of a tribute… and maybe a little bit of passive-aggressive payback. Lights Out By 8 likes to think of it as their daily reminder that every great band needs a gimmick, and theirs just happens to be punctuality. Nowadays, you can catch them all over the DC metro area performing at clubs, bars, private event spaces and even sports stadiums & arenas.
